Over her many years at the Congregational Church of Austin, Nodie Murphy, Music Director, composed many songs to honor church members on special occasions. These songs were very much apprecieated by recipients and church members, families and friends. Recipients of her songs were referred to by Ruth Koenig as "Being Nodied."
