Texas School of Fine Arts
Austin, Texas

1931-1932

A number of the faculty provided music for the Congregational Church of Austin.

The Texas School of Fine Arts, in Austin, was established as a private fine-arts school in 1930 with accreditationcenter from the State Department of Education. Anita Storrs Gaedcke, a violinist from Southwestern Univeristy in Georgetown, Texas, (photo at right) and Miriam Gordon Landrum ( a pianist) shared responsibilities for the school's direction until 1942, when Landrum became the sole owner and director. The institution offered both preparatory and college courses in music, speech and drama, and art. Certificates of achievement were completed through private lessons; there was no age limit. The Texas School of Fine Arts was dissolved voluntarily on August 6, 1973.

At the end of this page is an index of names of all who appear in this catalogue. It was typed by Lois Mallory.
