1999-June26-July3-95 Beth and Mary Kimoto Tomita (she knew Yoshi Kaneda) Mary had a very interesting early life. While visiting family in Japan, she was returning to United States and was on the way back when Pearly Harbor occured. The ship turned around and returned to Japan. Mary spent a harrowing years trapped in Japan. As food got scares, Mary found it very difficult to survive. When the war was over, her knowledge of English eabled her to work for U. S. military in Japan until she could return to the home. She wrote a book about her experiences: "Dear Miye: Letters Home From Japan 1939-1946 "
